GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The online mode is a separate matter, and the difference between the two dates decides a lot for anyone planning to play with friends, trade, or grind money from day one.
What actually ships on November 19
The launch build is the single-player campaign on current-generation consoles. That is the part with a confirmed date, and that is the part you can preorder today.
A PC version is expected later. Rockstar has historically shipped PC releases well after consoles, and nothing about GTA 6 suggests a change to that pattern.
Where GTA Online fits
Every mainline Grand Theft Auto since GTA 4 shipped its multiplayer separately from the campaign, and GTA 5 is the clearest case: the single-player game arrived in September 2013, GTA Online opened two weeks later, and it kept expanding for a decade after that.
The practical read for GTA 6 is the same shape. Expect the campaign first and the online mode after, not both on the same evening.
Why the gap matters if you plan to buy progress
Money, RP and rank services only exist once there is an online economy to move value inside. Until the servers open there is nothing to boost: the campaign has no shared progression, no lobbies and no player economy.
That is the honest reason our own calculator does not take orders yet. You can build an order and lock the price now, but the work itself starts the day GTA Online opens.
What you can usefully do before launch
- Preorder on the platform you will actually play on, because progress does not move between ecosystems by default
- Decide early whether you want to play along with a booster or hand the account over, since that changes both price and pace
- Lock a price before the launch rush, when demand and delivery times both spike
Frequently asked
Will GTA Online carry over from GTA 5?
No. GTA Online in GTA 5 is a separate product with its own economy. Characters, vehicles and balances there have no path into a new game.
Will it be on PC at launch?
No. The confirmed launch platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Can I get boosted on day one?
Not on the campaign, no. The moment the online mode opens, orders start moving in the order they were locked.
